Residents looking for Kendal fireworks this Bonfire Night face a wait for confirmation: no display in the town has been announced as of 4 September 2026. The only confirmed and bookable event around Kendal is a ticketed display at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa in Windermere.

Bonfire Night falls on Thursday 5 November this year. Because the date is midweek, many community displays would normally be expected to move to Friday 6 or Saturday 7 November, but Kendal’s usual large public event has not yet gone on sale.

Low Wood Bay is the only confirmed option

English Lakes has published details of its Low Wood Bay Bonfire Night event at the resort on Ambleside Road, Windermere. The fireworks are scheduled for 7.30pm to 7.45pm on Thursday 5 November 2026.

The Gallery Lounge option costs £12.50 per person, with arrival from 6pm and parking in the Watersports Car Park. A W Bonfire Dinner costs £37.50 for an adult, with sittings at 6pm and 7pm and access to the Gallery Lounge and parking included. The child dinner price is still to be confirmed.

Overnight packages, including rooftop-terrace viewing and a spa thermal journey, are also listed. Bookings are being handled through [email protected] or 015394 39479. Unlike a free town celebration, this is a ticketed resort event held on private grounds.

What is happening at Kendal Rugby Club?

Kendal Rugby Club’s usual community fireworks night is held at Mint Bridge on Shap Road. However, its TryBooking page for “Community Fireworks at Kendal Rugby Club” currently says “This event has no dates available for booking” and offers only a waiting list.

The club’s event calendar is empty for October and November 2026, and its news list contains no fireworks announcement. The most recent display that can be dated from a first-party listing was on Friday 8 November 2024.

That 2024 listing should not be treated as this year’s plan. The club’s previous published format included gates opening at 5pm, fireworks at 7.30pm, advance tickets at £3 per person and entry on the gate at £4. Under-threes were free, a funfair was provided, both cash and card were accepted, and sparklers were prohibited. There was no parking at the ground, with nearby supermarket car parks allowing a three-hour stay.

The club has cancelled its display in the past: a notice titled “No fireworks at the club this year, sorry” was published and archived on 1 November 2021.

Other listings and road information

Windermere Rugby Club’s display at Dawes Meadow in Bowness has not been announced either. Its news feed has no items and its October and November 2026 calendars are empty.

People searching online should also be cautious about older listings. Visit Kendal’s “Autumn nights” page still refers to a Mintbridge display and includes wording saying “2018 marks 100 years”, showing that the page dates from 2018. A Lake District bonfire page lists venues including Kendal Castle but gives no specific year or date, describing them as places where displays have taken place rather than confirmed 2026 events.

No temporary traffic regulation order for a Kendal fireworks or bonfire event had been advertised on the Public Notice Portal when checks were made on 4 September 2026. Any event requiring a road closure would need a statutory notice first.

There is no visitor parking at Mint Bridge, and the source advises that town parking and walking or driving out would be needed if an event is announced. The latest traffic notice mentioned covers utility works at Skelwith Bridge and a 20-metre closure off Blackhall Road in Kendal from 10 September for about a day, rather than a fireworks event.

Kendal Rugby Club’s TryBooking page, Windermere Rugby Club’s own pages and the Public Notice Portal are the main places to check for an announcement. Kendal News says it is checking weekly through October and will update its information when a display is confirmed. For now, Low Wood Bay is the only Kendal-area fireworks event available to book.
