Kendal RUFC has secured a two-year sponsorship deal with broadband provider Fibrus, bringing new support to teams and community activities across the club.
Fibrus’s logo will appear on Kendal’s first-team shirts, pitch-side boards and matchday programmes under the agreement. The investment will support the Black and Ambers men’s first team and the wider club at its 12-acre Mint Bridge ground.
Support across the club
Mint Bridge hosts teams and programmes for players of different ages and abilities. They include the Little Stingers programme for children aged five and the Auld Greys walking rugby squad for people aged over 55.
Kendal RUFC chair Claire Park said the sponsorship would help the club continue to grow as a community organisation. She said it would create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy rugby in a welcoming and inclusive environment, while also benefiting the volunteers who support the club.
“We’re delighted to welcome Fibrus as a sponsor for the next two years. “Their support will help us continue to grow as a community club, providing opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy rugby in a welcoming and inclusive environment. “From our senior teams through to the Little Stingers programme and Auld Greys walking rugby, this sponsorship will benefit the whole club and the volunteers who make everything we do possible.”
Fibrus investment in Cumbria
Fibrus has expanded its network across Cumbria since 2022 and has donated more than £470,000 to organisations in the county. The company is also the headline sponsor of Workington Town and the official sleeve sponsor of Barrow AFC.
Colin Hutchinson, Fibrus group managing director, said the company wanted to invest in the communities it serves as its Cumbrian network grows. He described Kendal RUFC as an organisation that brings people of all ages together and credited its staff and volunteers for making the club possible.
“As we continue to grow across Cumbria, we’re committed to investing in the communities we serve. “We believe our role goes beyond providing full fibre broadband – it’s about supporting the organisations that help communities thrive. “Kendal RUFC is a fantastic example of that. “It brings people of all ages together, gives them the opportunity to enjoy rugby and is made possible by the dedication of its staff and volunteers.”
