Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has revealed nine further playing changes ahead of the 2026/27 season, while keeping one new arrival’s identity secret. The club has also announced two additions to its board as preparations for the new campaign continue.
The squad update was announced on 23 August 2026, with a further update issued the following day. It gives supporters a clearer picture of Kendal’s rebuilding plans, although the full line-up has not yet been published.
Four players agree to return
Andy Rogers, Joe Anderson, Dev Coyle and Dini Noyo have all agreed to re-sign for Kendal. Rogers is recovering from an operation, and the club hopes he will be available to return to the team in the New Year.
The four renewals follow the earlier confirmation that 13 players would remain with the club. That group comprises Aaron Stephens, Alfie Bradshaw, Barney Coxon, Ben Dixon, Ben O’Halloran, Dan Shorrock, Dane Blenkharn, Glenn Chesher, Luke Atkinson, Matty Houghton, Ollie Rose, Oscar Coxon and Patrick Wolstenholme.
Ben Dixon will captain Kendal for a third season, providing continuity in the club’s leadership as the wider squad is rebuilt.
Four new arrivals named
Prop Finn Kennedy is joining Kendal after making 35 appearances for Carlisle over the past two seasons.
Angus Knight, a hooker who previously played junior rugby for Kendal, is also returning to the club after representing Kirkby Lonsdale. Kendal’s announcement links him with Syston, Thanet Wanderers, Loughborough and Kirtstall, although available records differ over parts of his recent playing history.
Front-row player Arran Sulivan is arriving from Aspatria, while Zane Butler is returning from New Zealand. Butler previously played for Kendal and made his debut during the 2008/09 season.
Butler has scored 36 tries in 92 appearances for the club and was part of Kendal’s promotion-winning 2015/16 side. He missed that season’s final match after breaking his leg against Leigh.
Fifth signing remains undisclosed
Kendal has not yet revealed the identity of its fifth new arrival. Further player names are expected to be published as details are confirmed, leaving supporters without the complete 2026/27 squad for now.
The club has also confirmed that Abby Alexander and Dan Stephens have joined its board. Their appointments mean organisational changes are taking place alongside the on-field rebuild as Kendal prepares for the new season.
