Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has opened its senior-team record books, publishing a historical archive that stretches across more than a century and highlights two leading milestones: Glenn Chesher’s 243 First XV appearances and Hayley Hodgson’s recorded 734 points for the Wasps.

The records were published on 23 August 2026 and updated on 24 August. Kendal Rugby Club said the information is intended to provide current players, former members and supporters with a reference point for the club’s history.

Glenn Chesher leads Kendal’s First XV appearances

The published First XV appearance records cover the period from 1905 through to the end of the 2025 season. Chesher is listed at the top with 243 matches, three ahead of Matt Houghton, who has 240 appearances.

Alistair Thompson is third with 200 appearances, followed by Reece Tomlinson on 183 and Dini Noyo on 157. The table brings together long-serving Kendal club members and players from more recent senior teams.

Houghton also features among the leading First XV scorers, although Aaron Stephens tops that table with 361 points from 78 appearances. His total comprises 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties.

Houghton is second on 320 points, with Noyo third on 295. Evan Moir is listed with 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose completes the published leading scorers with 140 points from 42 appearances.

Wasps records bring together more recent seasons

The Wasps records cover the 2013/14 campaign through to the 2025/26 season. Aimee Sharp is the leading recorded appearance-maker with 125 matches, followed by Sarah Wilkinson on 110. Hodgson is third in the appearance table with 109 matches.

Hodgson leads the recorded Wasps points table with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second with 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.

The club has cautioned that some women’s-team figures remain provisional while research continues. The Wasps information combines entries from the team’s first listed campaign in 2013/14 with newer material from the 2025/26 season, and further historical research could change some published totals.

Downloadable documents now include Wasps appearance and scoring records, as well as combined First XV appearance and scoring tables covering the period from 1905 to 2026.

The publication gives Kendal Rugby Club a foundation for recognising leading players and continuing to develop its historical archive. Unless additional research changes the figures, Chesher’s 243 First XV appearances and Hodgson’s recorded 734 Wasps points remain the headline milestones in the newly published records.
