Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has opened a new senior-team record archive spanning more than a century, with Glenn Chesher and Hayley Hodgson recognised for two headline achievements. Chesher is recorded as Kendal’s leading First XV appearance-maker, while Hodgson tops the recorded points table for the women’s Wasps team.

The archive was published on 23 August 2026 and updated the following day. It brings together senior-team appearance and scoring information from different stages of Kendal Rugby Club’s development, providing a single reference point for current players, former members and supporters.

Chesher leads Kendal’s First XV appearances

Glenn Chesher is listed with 243 First XV appearances for Kendal, three ahead of Matt Houghton on 240. The published appearance table covers the period from 1905 through to the end of the 2025 season.

Alistair Thompson is third in the appearance records with 200 matches, followed by Reece Tomlinson on 183 and Dini Noyo on 157. The table brings together long-serving club members and players from more recent senior sides, placing the record in the context of more than a century of competition and changing teams.

Stephens heads the men’s scoring table

Matt Houghton also appears among Kendal’s leading First XV scorers, but Aaron Stephens tops that table with 361 points from 78 appearances.

Stephens’s total consists of 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties. Houghton is second with 320 points, while Noyo is third on 295. Evan Moir is listed on 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose completes the published leading scorers with 140 points from 42 appearances.

Hodgson leads recorded Wasps points

The women’s Wasps records cover the 2013/14 campaign through to the 2025/26 season. Aimee Sharp is the leading recorded appearance-maker with 125 matches, followed by Sarah Wilkinson on 110. Hodgson is third in the appearance table with 109 matches.

Hodgson leads the recorded Wasps points table with 734 points, made up of 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second on 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.

The club has cautioned that some women’s-team figures remain provisional while research continues. The archive combines entries from the Wasps’ first listed campaign in 2013/14 with newer material from the 2025/26 season, meaning further historical research could alter some published totals.

Unless additional research changes the figures, Chesher’s 243 First XV appearances and Hodgson’s recorded 734 Wasps points remain the key milestones in Kendal Rugby Club’s newly published records. The archive is intended to give supporters one place to follow senior-team appearances and scoring achievements as the club continues developing its historical record.
