Kendal Rugby Union Football Club is calling on its wider community to help prepare Mint Bridge for the 2026/27 season, with practical maintenance work planned across the clubhouse and the wider site.
The club’s appeal is aimed at members, players, parents, supporters and anyone else willing to volunteer. Helpers are invited to give whatever time they can, whether that means staying for the full maintenance day or contributing just an hour.
Work planned at Mint Bridge
Tasks are expected to include clearing and tidying the kit room and container, painting, repairs and cleaning inside the clubhouse. Volunteers will also be asked to carry out general tidying and sort archived collections.
The mix of jobs means people with different levels of practical experience and different amounts of available time can take part. The club says the work is intended to help ensure its facilities are looking their best before the new campaign begins.
The maintenance day was planned for Saturday 8 August from 10am onwards. The appeal follows an earlier Saturday gathering, which the club described as an “Excellent Turnout”.
Refreshments for volunteers
People taking part are promised a lunchtime thank-you from the club. Refreshments will include a beer, small wine or soft drink, together with a burger.
