Kendal Rugby Union Football Club is calling on its community to help prepare Mint Bridge ahead of the 2026/27 season, with a maintenance day planned for Saturday 8 August from 10am onwards.

The club is asking members, players, parents, supporters and volunteers to give as much time as they can. The appeal follows a previous Saturday gathering that the club described as having an “Excellent Turnout”.

Jobs planned around the club

Volunteers will be able to help with a range of practical tasks, including clearing and tidying the kit room and container, painting and repairs, general clubhouse cleaning, wider tidying and sorting archived collections.

The club said there would be work suitable for people who can spare an hour as well as those able to stay for the duration. The aim is to ensure Mint Bridge is looking its best before the new season begins.

Refreshments for volunteers

Everyone who helps is promised a thank-you at lunchtime: a beer, small wine or soft drink and a burger will be provided.

The maintenance day is being organised by Kendal Rugby Union Football Club, which is inviting its wider membership and volunteer community to take part in getting the club ready for the 2026/27 campaign.
