A Kendal sixth former has been recognised as the 2025-2026 business studies student of the year in an annual awards programme run by Cumbrian accountancy firm Lamont Pridmore.
Sacha Taylor, of Kirbie Kendal School, received the award after being selected for her performance and enthusiasm for business studies. The programme celebrates outstanding students at schools across Cumbria and is intended to encourage and nurture the next generation of business leaders.
Award recognises commitment to business studies
The award was presented by Carol Conyers, a client relationship manager at Lamont Pridmore’s South Cumbria offices.
Ms Conyers said: “On behalf of Lamont Pridmore, I am delighted to hand out this year’s award to Sacha, whose talents and enthusiasm for business have been recognised by her teachers.
“I am sure her hard work and diligent approach to education will see her go far, and we wish her all the best for her degree studies and beyond.”
Mandy Booth, head of business at Kirbie Kendal School, said Taylor had been an exceptional business student. She said Taylor took part in every lesson, asked questions to deepen her understanding and settled smoothly into sixth-form life.
Booth also described observing Taylor’s hard work and determination as an “absolute pleasure”. As Taylor’s form tutor, she said she had seen her caring and curious nature beyond the classroom.
Next step is university study
After completing her A-levels, Taylor will continue her education at Liverpool John Moores University, where she will study criminology and psychology.
Booth called Taylor a truly deserving student who would embrace the challenges of life after school and make a positive contribution to those around her.
