Drivers using the M6 southbound near Burton-in-Kendal face an overnight closure on Friday, September 25, as work begins to replace central reservation barriers.

The motorway will be shut between junction 36 and junction 35 from 8pm until 6am. A signed diversion route will be available while the closure is in place.

National Highways said the work is due to start near Burton-in-Kendal, although the planned timing depends on weather and conditions at the site.

The barrier replacement project has already started at Borwick Lane overbridge and is scheduled to continue until December.

Drivers travelling through South Cumbria during the closure should follow the signed diversion and allow extra time for their journeys.
