South Lakes Housing’s senior leadership team has visited Hallgarth Estate in Kendal as part of an ongoing programme designed to bring its leaders closer to residents and local neighbourhoods.
The team visited the estate on Tuesday to meet residents, see homes and neighbourhoods first-hand, and take a test drive in one of South Lakes Housing’s new 100% electric vans.
Leadership visits across South Lakes
The Kendal visit is part of a monthly programme taking the senior leadership team into communities across South Lakes Housing’s 1,000-square-mile area. The organisation says the visits are intended to make leadership more visible and give senior staff the chance to hear directly from residents.
The programme reflects South Lakes Housing’s new business strategy, “Your Home, Our Community”, and its place-based housing model. These focus on understanding local needs, listening to residents and working with partners to strengthen the places where people live.
New electric vans
The visit also provided an opportunity for the team to try one of South Lakes Housing’s new electric vans. The organisation said more information about the vehicles would be shared the following week.
