Summer Sundays has returned to Brewery Arts in Kendal, drawing more than 1,000 people to the first of five music-filled Sunday afternoons and introducing new evening entertainment for the rest of the series.
The opening event featured The Seals, who performed in the garden. Brewery Arts said the day brought the community together, while also unveiling refreshed Malt Room and Foyer bars created in partnership with Fell Brewery.
Music and entertainment throughout August
The remaining Summer Sundays dates will feature headline acts on the main stage from 2pm to 4pm:
- 9 August: Meetwood Flac
- 16 August: Atomic Brass
- 23 August: Bad Transmission
- 30 August: The Seals
Streamed music will run from 4pm to 7pm, extending the atmosphere into the evening. A live DJ will also join the programme on the final Summer Sundays event.
Bars, food and entry donations
Five bars will be open during the events, offering locally brewed ale alongside spirits and wine. Fell Brewery has also given its classic lager a Summer Sundays rebrand, creating Summer Sunday Lager.
Street food will be available, including flatbreads and dishes from Wagtail Kitchen, until 6.30pm.
Entry remains free for the community, but Brewery Arts is inviting visitors to “Pay What You Decide”. A suggested £2 donation will help support future events. Brewery Arts said it is a charity and that every donation makes a difference.
