Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has still not confirmed what happened at a volunteer maintenance day planned for its Mint Bridge base, leaving members, supporters, club families and local residents without a clear account of whether the work went ahead.
The session was scheduled to begin at 10am on Saturday 8 August as part of preparations for the 2026/27 campaign. However, an update published on 24 August and updated on 25 August said the club had not publicly established whether volunteers arrived, what work was completed or whether more help was needed at the ground.
Work planned at Mint Bridge
The appeal covered the clubhouse and wider Mint Bridge facilities. Volunteers were asked to clear and tidy the kit room and container, carry out painting and repairs, and clean inside the clubhouse.
Other planned jobs included general tidying, sorting and organising archived collections. Specialist maintenance experience was not required, although the appeal did not provide a detailed list of specific skills that might have been useful.
