Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has confirmed nine further playing changes and two board appointments as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign. The announcement includes four returning players, four named new arrivals and a fifth signing whose identity is being withheld.
The club has also appointed Abby Alexander and Dan Stephens to its board, adding organisational changes to the squad-building work taking place before the new season. Further information is expected, meaning supporters do not yet have the complete line-up for the campaign.
Four players agree to return
Andy Rogers, Joe Anderson, Dev Coyle and Dini Noyo have all agreed to re-sign for Kendal. Rogers is recovering from an operation, and the club hopes he will be able to return to the team in the New Year.
The four renewals come on top of 13 players whose re-signings had already been confirmed. They are Aaron Stephens, Alfie Bradshaw, Barney Coxon, Ben Dixon, Ben O’Halloran, Dan Shorrock, Dane Blenkharn, Glenn Chesher, Luke Atkinson, Matty Houghton, Ollie Rose, Oscar Coxon and Patrick Wolstenholme.
Ben Dixon will captain Kendal for a third season. His continued involvement gives the club an established leader as it assembles its squad for the next campaign.
Four new arrivals named
The latest update identifies four of the five incoming players. Prop Finn Kennedy is joining after making 35 appearances for Carlisle over the past two seasons.
Hooker Angus Knight is returning to Kendal after previously playing junior rugby for the club and representing Kirkby Lonsdale. The announcement also links Knight with Syston, Thanet Wanderers, Loughborough and Kirtstall, although available records differ over parts of his recent playing history.
Front-row player Arran Sulivan arrives from Aspatria, while Zane Butler is returning from New Zealand. Butler previously played for Kendal, making his debut during the 2008/09 season and scoring 36 tries in 92 appearances.
Butler was also part of Kendal’s promotion-winning 2015/16 side. He missed the final match of that season after breaking his leg against Leigh.
Fifth signing remains undisclosed
Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has not yet completed its announcement of the 2026/27 squad. The fifth new arrival has not been identified, and the club is expected to publish further player names as details are confirmed.
