Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has published a detailed set of senior-team records spanning more than a century, identifying Glenn Chesher as the club’s leading First XV appearance-maker and Hayley Hodgson as the top recorded points scorer for the Wasps.
The tables are intended to give current players, former members and supporters a reference point for Kendal Rugby Club’s history. However, the club has warned that some of the Wasps statistics may be incomplete and could change if further historical material is found.
Chesher leads Kendal’s First XV appearances
The First XV appearance records run from 1905 to the end of the 2025 season. Chesher is listed first with 243 matches, three ahead of Matt Houghton, who has 240 appearances.
Alistair Thompson is third with 200 appearances, followed by Reece Tomlinson on 183 and Dini Noyo on 157. The published table brings together players from different eras of Kendal Rugby Club, including long-serving members and more recent senior-team players.
Aaron Stephens leads the listed First XV scoring table with 361 points from 78 appearances. His total includes 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties. Houghton is second with 320 points, while Noyo is third with 295.
Evan Moir has 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose completes the published leading-scorers list with 140 points from 42 appearances.
Hodgson tops the recorded Wasps points table
The Wasps records cover the 2013/14 campaign through to 2025/26. Aimee Sharp is the leading recorded appearance-maker with 125 matches, followed by Sarah Wilkinson with 110. Hodgson is listed with 109 appearances.
Hodgson also leads the recorded Wasps points table, with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second with 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.
The club said the Wasps information combines entries from the team’s first listed campaign in 2013/14 with newer material from the 2025/26 season. Because the underlying records may not be complete, further research could alter the totals already published.
Records provide a starting point for future updates
Downloadable documents now include Wasps appearance and scoring records from 2013/14 to 2025/26, alongside combined First XV appearance and scoring tables covering the period from 1905 to 2026.
The publication gives Kendal Rugby Club a starting point for recognising its leading players and expanding its historical record if additional Wasps statistics are discovered. For now, Chesher’s 243 First XV appearances and Hodgson’s recorded 734 Wasps points are the headline figures in the newly published tables.
