Kendal Rugby Union Football Club is asking its wider community to help get Mint Bridge ready for the 2026/27 season, with a maintenance day planned for Saturday 8 August from 10am onwards.

The club is inviting members, players, parents, supporters and volunteers to give as much time as they can. The appeal follows an earlier Saturday gathering which the club described as an “Excellent Turnout”.

Jobs planned at Mint Bridge

Volunteers will be able to take on a range of practical tasks around the club, including clearing and tidying the kit room and container, painting and carrying out repairs, cleaning the clubhouse, general tidying and sorting archived collections.

The work is intended to suit people with different amounts of time available. The club said there would be tasks for those able to spare an hour, as well as for volunteers who can stay throughout the maintenance day.

The aim is to ensure the Mint Bridge facilities are looking their best before the new season begins.

Refreshments for volunteers

Those who take part will receive a lunchtime thank-you from the club. Refreshments will include a beer, small wine or soft drink, along with a burger.

The maintenance day is being organised by Kendal Rugby Union Football Club as part of preparations for its 2026/27 campaign. The appeal is open to the club’s wider membership and volunteer community.
