Kendal Rugby Union Football Club is calling on its wider community to help get Mint Bridge ready for the 2026/27 season, with a maintenance day planned for Saturday 8 August from 10am onwards.
The appeal is open to members, players, parents, supporters and other volunteers. The club is asking people to give as much time as they can, whether they are able to stay for the full day or can spare only an hour.
What volunteers will be doing
Work at the Mint Bridge facilities is expected to include clearing and tidying the kit room and container, painting, carrying out repairs and cleaning the clubhouse.
Volunteers will also be asked to complete general tidying and sort archived collections. The range of jobs is intended to make it possible for people with different amounts of time and practical experience to take part.
The maintenance day follows an earlier Saturday gathering, which the club described as an “Excellent Turnout”. The latest work is intended to ensure the facilities are looking their best before the new campaign begins.
Refreshments promised for helpers
People taking part will receive a lunchtime thank-you from the club. Refreshments will include a beer, small wine or soft drink, along with a burger.
The event is being organised as part of Kendal Rugby Union Football Club’s preparations for its 2026/27 campaign. The appeal remains aimed at the club’s wider membership and volunteer community.
