Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has confirmed nine further playing changes and two board appointments as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign continue. The update includes four players returning to the squad and five new arrivals, although the club has not yet identified one of its new signings.
Abby Alexander and Dan Stephens have joined Kendal’s board as the club reshapes both its organisation and playing squad before the new season. Further squad information is expected, meaning supporters do not yet have the complete picture of the team that will begin the campaign.
Four players agree to return
Andy Rogers, Joe Anderson, Dev Coyle and Dini Noyo have all agreed to re-sign for Kendal. Rogers is recovering from an operation, and the club hopes he will be able to return to the team in the New Year.
The four returning players add to 13 previously confirmed re-signings: Aaron Stephens, Alfie Bradshaw, Barney Coxon, Ben Dixon, Ben O’Halloran, Dan Shorrock, Dane Blenkharn, Glenn Chesher, Luke Atkinson, Matty Houghton, Ollie Rose, Oscar Coxon and Patrick Wolstenholme.
Ben Dixon will captain Kendal for a third season. His continued leadership gives the club some stability as it builds its squad for the next campaign.
Four new arrivals named
The latest announcement identifies four of the five new players joining Kendal. Prop Finn Kennedy arrives after making 35 appearances for Carlisle over the past two seasons.
Hooker Angus Knight is also returning to Kendal. He previously played junior rugby for the club and represented Kirkby Lonsdale. The update also links Knight with Syston, Thanet Wanderers, Loughborough and Kirtstall, while noting that available records differ over parts of his recent playing history.
Front-row player Arran Sulivan joins from Aspatria, while Zane Butler is returning from New Zealand after previously playing for Kendal.
Butler made his Kendal debut in the 2008/09 season and has scored 36 tries in 92 appearances. His earlier spell included the club’s promotion-winning 2015/16 side, although he missed that season’s final match after breaking his leg against Leigh.
Fifth signing and final squad details still awaited
