Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has published a detailed record of the players who have made the biggest mark on its First XV and Wasps teams, bringing together more than a century of appearances and scoring information.
The record covers First XV playing data from 1905 through the end of the 2025 season. It also includes Wasps appearances and scoring records from the 2013/14 campaign through 2025/26, although the club has warned that the Wasps information is based on records found so far and may not be complete.
First XV appearance record
Glenn Chesher leads the First XV appearance table with 243 matches. Matt Houghton is close behind on 240, while Alistair Thompson is third with 200 appearances. Reece Tomlinson follows on 183 and Dini Noyo has made 157 appearances.
The figures provide a long-term view of service to the Kendal club, while also identifying some of the most productive players in more recent records.
Aaron Stephens has made 78 First XV appearances and leads the team’s points table with 361 points. His total comprises 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties. Matt Houghton is next on 320 points, followed by Dini Noyo on 295.
Evan Moir has scored 227 points in 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose has recorded 140 points from 42 appearances.
Wasps milestones and scoring
Aimee Sharp tops the Wasps appearance list with 125 matches. Sarah Wilkinson has 110 appearances and Hayley Hodgson has 109.
Hodgson also leads the Wasps points table, with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second on 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.
The Wasps table includes players whose records began in 2013/14, alongside newer entries from the 2025/26 season. That means the information spans the team’s recorded history so far, but the club’s warning about possible gaps remains important when interpreting the rankings.
Records available to supporters
Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has made the information available in downloadable documents covering Wasps appearances and scoring from 2013/14 to 2025/26, as well as combined appearance and scoring records for the period from 1905 to 2026.
The publication gives players, supporters and the wider Kendal rugby community a reference point for the club’s leading appearance-makers and scorers, while leaving open the possibility that future research could add to the Wasps totals.
