Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has opened a detailed window on its playing history by publishing appearance and scoring records covering the First XV from 1905 to the end of the 2025 season, together with Wasps statistics spanning the 2013/14 campaign to 2025/26.

The records identify the players who have made the biggest documented contribution to the club’s senior teams. Kendal says, however, that the Wasps information is based on records found so far and may not be complete. The published rankings should therefore be treated as the best available record rather than necessarily a final historical account.

Glenn Chesher leads First XV appearances

Glenn Chesher tops the First XV appearance table with 243 matches. Matt Houghton follows closely with 240, while Alistair Thompson has recorded 200 appearances.

Reece Tomlinson is next with 183 matches and Dini Noyo has made 157 appearances. Together, the figures provide a long-term record of service to Kendal’s First XV, bringing the leading totals from the club’s earlier history alongside more recent playing records.

Aaron Stephens leads the First XV points table, having scored 361 points in 78 appearances. His total includes 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties.

Houghton is second with 320 points, followed by Noyo on 295. Evan Moir has scored 227 points in 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose has recorded 140 points from 42 appearances.

Wasps records highlight Sharp, Wilkinson and Hodgson

Aimee Sharp is the leading player for Wasps appearances, with 125 matches. Sarah Wilkinson has made 110 appearances and Hayley Hodgson has 109.

Hodgson leads the Wasps points table with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second on 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.

The Wasps table combines records beginning in 2013/14 with newer entries from the 2025/26 season. Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has cautioned that gaps may remain in the underlying information, meaning future research could alter some of the totals.

Records available to Kendal supporters

Downloadable documents now cover Wasps appearances and scoring from 2013/14 to 2025/26, as well as combined First XV appearance and scoring records for the period from 1905 to 2026.

The publication gives players, supporters and the wider Kendal rugby community a reference point for the club’s leading appearance-makers and scorers. It also provides a basis for future updates if additional Wasps records are found and added to the published totals.
