Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has opened a detailed window on its playing history by publishing more than a century of First XV statistics alongside Wasps appearance and scoring records. The documents identify the players with the highest recorded totals for the club’s senior teams, although Kendal says some Wasps information may still be incomplete.

The First XV records run from 1905 to the end of the 2025 season, while the Wasps statistics cover the 2013/14 campaign to 2025/26. The club said the rankings should be regarded as the best available record rather than necessarily a final historical account, because they are based on information found so far.

Glenn Chesher leads First XV appearances

Glenn Chesher is the leading First XV appearance-maker, with 243 matches. Matt Houghton is close behind on 240, followed by Alistair Thompson with 200.

Reece Tomlinson has made 183 appearances and Dini Noyo has recorded 157. Together, the figures bring the club’s long-serving players from earlier periods of its history into the same published record as more recent playing totals.

Aaron Stephens heads the First XV points table after scoring 361 points in 78 appearances. His total comprises 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties.

Houghton is second with 320 points, while Noyo has scored 295. Evan Moir has 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose has recorded 140 points from 42 appearances.

Wasps records highlight Sharp, Wilkinson and Hodgson

Aimee Sharp leads the Wasps appearance table with 125 matches. Sarah Wilkinson has made 110 appearances and Hayley Hodgson has 109.

Hodgson is the leading Wasps scorer, with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second on 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.

The Wasps table combines records beginning in 2013/14 with newer entries from the 2025/26 season. Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has cautioned that gaps may remain in the underlying information, so further research could change some of the published totals.

Records available to Kendal supporters

Downloadable documents now cover Wasps appearances and scoring from 2013/14 to 2025/26, as well as combined First XV appearance and scoring records for the period from 1905 to 2026.

The publication gives players, supporters and the wider Kendal rugby community a reference point for the club’s leading appearance-makers and scorers. It also creates a basis for future updates if additional Wasps records are found and added to the totals.
