Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has confirmed nine further playing changes ahead of the 2026/27 season, while also adding Abby Alexander and Dan Stephens to its board as preparations continue for the new campaign.

The latest update includes four re-signings and five new arrivals. The club published the update on Friday 14 August 2026 and said it would provide more detail on the players expected to feature in the squad. Further announcements are expected as Kendal completes its squad information.

Four players re-sign for Kendal

The four players confirmed as returning are Andy Rogers, Joe Anderson, Dev Coyle and Dini Noyo.

Rogers is recovering after an operation, with Kendal aiming for him to return to the team in the New Year. The four join 13 players who had already been confirmed as returning: Aaron Stephens, Alfie Bradshaw, Barney Coxon, Ben Dixon, Ben O’Halloran, Dan Shorrock, Dane Blenkharn, Glenn Chesher, Luke Atkinson, Matty Houghton, Ollie Rose, Oscar Coxon and Patrick Wolstenholme.

Ben Dixon will captain the side for a third season, giving the club continuity while it reshapes its squad for the new campaign.

Five new arrivals join the squad

Prop Finn Kennedy is among the new signings after making 35 appearances for Carlisle over the past two seasons. Hooker Angus Knight is also joining Kendal. Knight previously played junior rugby for the club and for Kirkby Lonsdale.

The club’s update records links to Syston, Thanet Wanderers, Loughborough and Kirtstall in connection with Knight, while noting that available records differ over parts of his recent playing history.

Front-row player Arran Sulivan, from Aspatria, is another addition to the squad. Zane Butler is returning to Kendal from New Zealand, having previously played for the club.

Butler made his Kendal debut in 2008/09 and has scored 36 tries in 92 appearances. His earlier spell included the promotion-winning 2015/16 side, although he missed that season’s final match after breaking his leg against Leigh.

New appointments to the club board

Alongside the playing announcements, Kendal has confirmed that Abby Alexander and Dan Stephens have joined the Kendal Rugby Union Football Club board.

The club has said more player names will be announced as they are confirmed. The latest update gives supporters nine confirmed squad changes for 2026/27, but the final make-up of the team remains incomplete as preparations continue.
