Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has opened its historical record books, publishing senior-team appearance and scoring tables that stretch from 1905 to the end of the 2025 season for the First XV, and from 2013/14 to 2025/26 for the Wasps.

The documents identify the players with the highest recorded totals across the two teams. However, the club has cautioned that the rankings represent the best available record based on information found so far, rather than necessarily being a final account of its history. In particular, some Wasps figures may still be incomplete.

First XV appearance and scoring leaders

Glenn Chesher tops the First XV appearance table with 243 matches. Matt Houghton is just behind on 240, while Alistair Thompson has recorded 200 appearances. Reece Tomlinson is listed on 183 and Dini Noyo on 157.

The appearance figures bring long-serving players from different eras of Kendal Rugby Club’s history together in one published record, alongside more recent totals.

Aaron Stephens leads the First XV points table with 361 points from 78 appearances. His total includes 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties.

Houghton is second with 320 points, followed by Noyo on 295. Evan Moir has scored 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose completes the listed leading scorers with 140 points from 42 appearances.

Wasps records highlight leading players

Aimee Sharp is the leading Wasps appearance-maker, with 125 matches. Sarah Wilkinson has made 110 appearances and Hayley Hodgson 109.

Hodgson is also the leading Wasps scorer, with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second on 270 points, followed by Tamar Benson on 253.

The Wasps table brings together records beginning in the 2013/14 campaign with newer entries from the 2025/26 season. Kendal Rugby Union Football Club said gaps may remain in the underlying information, meaning further research could alter some of the published totals.

Records available to the Kendal rugby community

Downloadable documents now cover Wasps appearances and scoring from 2013/14 to 2025/26, along with combined First XV appearance and scoring records covering the period from 1905 to 2026.

The publication gives current and former players, supporters and the wider Kendal rugby community a reference point for the club’s leading appearance-makers and scorers. It also provides a foundation for future updates if additional Wasps records are found and added.
