Kendal Rugby Union Football Club has published a major set of historical records covering its First XV and Wasps teams, identifying the players with the highest recorded appearance and scoring totals.
The records span the First XV from 1905 through the end of the 2025 season, while the Wasps statistics run from the 2013/14 campaign to 2025/26. The club has presented the tables as the best available account based on information found so far, but has warned that some Wasps totals may not be complete.
Glenn Chesher leads First XV appearances
Glenn Chesher is listed as the First XV’s leading appearance-maker, with 243 matches. Matt Houghton follows closely with 240 appearances, while Alistair Thompson has recorded 200.
Reece Tomlinson is listed on 183 appearances and Dini Noyo on 157. The table brings together long-serving players from different periods of Kendal Rugby Club’s history, alongside more recent records.
The First XV points table is headed by Aaron Stephens, who has scored 361 points in 78 appearances. His total consists of 12 tries, nine conversions and 53 penalties.
Houghton is second on 320 points, followed by Noyo with 295. Evan Moir has 227 points from 25 appearances, including 16 tries, three conversions and two penalties. Ollie Rose completes the listed leading scorers with 140 points from 42 appearances.
Wasps records identify leading players
Aimee Sharp is the leading recorded Wasps appearance-maker, with 125 matches. Sarah Wilkinson has made 110 appearances, while Hayley Hodgson is listed on 109.
Hodgson also leads the Wasps scoring table, with 734 points from 140 tries and 17 conversions. Wilkinson is second with 270 points and Tamar Benson follows on 253.
The Wasps records combine entries from the team’s first listed campaign in 2013/14 with newer information from the 2025/26 season. Kendal Rugby Union Football Club said that gaps may remain in the underlying material, so further research could change some of the published totals.

Downloadable documents now cover Wasps appearances and scoring from 2013/14 to 2025/26, as well as combined First XV appearance and scoring records covering 1905 to 2026.
The publication gives current and former players, supporters and the wider Kendal rugby community a reference point for the club’s leading players. It also creates a basis for future updates if additional Wasps records are found and added.
